Hey everyone! So i'm trying to figure something out and could use some help. I recently got stationed overseas (Italy) and we brought out 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. I'd like to charge it at home, where the house has EU standard plugs with 220V/50Hz. I tried to use a standard transformer to convert the voltage to 120v (I know, still 50hz) and the car did not respond to it (gave error).

I was wondering if anyone has a cord they use to charge an American EV (type 1) using the 220V power available from the house.

You need a standard type 1 portable evse. The cars onboard charger i imagine is level 1(110v) and level 2 (230v) compatible.
Check your current one, the 110v one, many are 90 to 250v and would just need a heavy duty shuko plug to us socket converter.

Any of the early leaf, mitsubishi, ampera (volt) evse will do as these are type 1, can often be found on ebay.

Otherwise amazon italy will provide several models.
Hopefully an Italian speakev user Will be along soon.

I imagine that as you are on a posting your house will have a better supply than mine, but in common with many flats my rental when I lived there had a maximum nominal 3kW supply and tripped the meter at 3.3kW! Upgrades were expensive and they charged more for such supplies. You learn to live with it and I only tripped it a few times in 7 years..

Having a hybrid may help you with some ZTLs (Limited traffic zones) but check locally as fines are easy to pick up!
