Hello

Is ther a way of having crusie control on without having all of the additonal bells and whstles blaring out? Particularly, can I turn the lane keeping off (I am always glad when t does it self in time sof low visibility).

Firstly, it doesnt keep you in lane. The numbe rof times you let it do its things and it just drifts over the line and then starts bleating at youj for crossing a line. And I am convinced the radar isnot se tright. Whether it is suddenly slamming on the brakes because it realises the lorry your are passing on the motorway is going slower than you, or trying to sit itslef straddling the middle lines in the road becasue it is sensing the 2 lines at the extremity of the road rather than seeing the one down the middle.

Or jerking the wheel to the right when the lines change such as entering a dual carraigeway section

Can I just have good old cruise control without all the other so called 'assistance'?

If i remember the specifics correctly, with cruise control initially disabled, press and hold the blue icon on the steering wheel and it will activate traditional cruise control with just speed target and no adaptive/radar assist. Also handy when the radar is not working in heavy rain/slush build up on the front of the car as you can still have cruise control.

Adaptive cruise control will cruise at its setpoint when alone on the road. If, you catch up with a vehicle in front then the car automatically shows down and follows it at a distance that you can set. It will even come to a halt if the vehicle in front stops. With the Ariya, it will also self steer, though you must have your hand on the steering wheel, and the car will alarm if you let go of the steering wheel for more than a few seconds. The Ariya will also slow down automatically for a round about, go around it and accelerate up to cruise speed with no driver intervention.
