I took our 2020 FE in for its pre booked super expensive third service.
When I booked it in several weeks ago the web site had the usual ambiguous outstanding service action.
So off I trundled to Furrows in Shrewsbury, I asked what the service action was only to be told it’s a recall to change the battery coolant.
oh I said, so as I have a service plan I’ve already paid for the work which your are now doing under warranty……yes um err um said the service rep, I can see me having a conversation with KCS about this as imho they owe me some form of credit. Preferably I would like the work carried out FOC in another three years,
I also asked the service rep to retain the old ecall battery as I am curious what it physically is, imagine my surprise to be told on collection that the battery wasn’t changed as it’s on back order. Despite the fact the car was booked in weeks ago so they either should got the part in stock or called to reschedule the service.
End result I have wasted a full day and will now have to go back again when they do have a battery
The cynic in me suspects if I hadn’t asked for the old one would they have just said yep done or still said I needed to come back?
Now as for the battery coolant there’s water splash marks all over the wiring and bulkhead and the reservoir is nicely over filled so they certainly have done something….
you can see the red dot I marked where the level was this morning compared to where it is now.
