Possibly a bit of a tangent, but does the UK Niro-EV model have the same daft boot-shrinking level access design as the e-Niro?

We will go and try - Niro EV can be found locally, but the nearest e-Niro seems to be 280km up the road.

 

It is likely that new EV prices will drop significantly in the next few years.
I would go for a used eniro unless you want to keep the car for a significant time or just want to be pampered by more interior luxury and a bit more space.

 

We had the choice of old or new and went with new for many reasons. Its a little bigger inside, a little better at charging, the interior is a step up, the exterior design is an improvement (though there’s nothing wrong with the old one), a new one of course has all of its warranty, more boot/frunk space, etc. In total that made it worth it to us, but if I was mostly concerned with interior space I’d be tempted to save my money - it’s bigger, but the old one was already surprisingly spacious.

 

The e-Niro is definitely a lot roomier than a Clio.

Why don't you go and try them?

Just for reference - we do manage shorter hops in a 2002 Renault Clio We are talking 20 minutes or so.

 

You definitely want the Niro EV lot more room in the back.
