5% discount For GO customers.

 

I thought the 8% discount was always for IOG customers. 5% for Go customers. Must admit when it first started I was on PowerPass so took no real notice of it as the PP discount was far greater on Ionity and Osprey who were the ones I used to use.

Off to France next week this will be useful. Just seen also a provider that I've never seen before now partnered with Electroverse. Their rapid charging pricing is an amazing 30 cents per kWh!

 

I’m with Intelligent Octopus Go and registered with Electroverse. Should I see a charging discount from the normal price on the Electroverse app? I may have got things mixed up, but I thought I had read that we get an 8% discount.

 

You should, but it's flaky. Out of 6 public charges in the last month or so, only one was marked with a discount. I used the exact same charger 3 times, but only one registered the discount. I complained, and they said it could take some time before it was applied- but as you can see, later charges didn't get it either.

Just to confirm, should I see a discount mentioned on all Partnered chargers, or just a few?
I've checked a lot near me with no mention of a discount.

 

As far as I’m aware they should show at all the chargers are partnered with. Certainly does at all the major hub players like Instavolt, Osprey, Ionity, MFG…

Choose one of those and filter your selection on it to check, but I suspect your octopus profiles aren’t linking correctly.

 

I just went to check my latest Electroverse charge from Instavolt Banbury, back in February. 63p a unit plus VAT @ 20%, so a smidge over 76p. Aren’t Instavolt 85p now if you pay direct? That’s an 11% discount. And I’m on Go, not Intelligent?

I’m confused. Not complaining, mind, but confused…

 

The Electroverse app indicates prices INCLUDE an 8% discount for Intelligent Octopus customers. To me this means the price is 8% MORE expensive if you're NOT on Intelligent Octopus. e.g. MFG 73p p/kWh would be 79p for non-Intelligent Octopus customers. Or am I missing something?

 

Interesting thread which has prompted me to look at my Electoverse history.

I don't use public chargers all that often, so don't pay too close attention to the prices, but it seems I was getting the discount on Go then when I moved to Intelligent in November (when Zappi became supported) I lost the discount.

Time to contact Octopus I think.

 

Pity it doesn't apply to Agile which is the ultimate in avoidance of usage at peak times! I'd be happy to let them play with my charging too! But I concluded that the day time price was too high when Agile is now normally around 13/4p most days and peaking at 30p. Today for a short time it went negative and I suspect it will be very competitive in the summer with solar and the new Interconnectors to sunny Europe.

 

Not really, for example - an evyve chargers near me is 75p contactless or through Evyve app

On electroverse for me it shows 75p (I'm on octopus tracker and get no discount)

For someone else who is on Octopus Intelligent Go electroverse shows 69p (i.e. 8% discount)
