Are they V4's? Are Tesla installing any new "stalls" that aren't V4?
Tesla are installing V3 SuperChargers at locations that are likely to remain Tesla only, such as Welcome Break /Applegreen locations and V4 SuperChargers at other locations such as this new one.

There are some new ones being added to the Welcome Break services at Birchwood near to my place of work and they look to be V3.

That supercharger at Harlington will certainly be useful for my trips to/from London. I usually do stop at Luton, but sometimes arrive with a higher SoC than ideal, being able to push to the next one will help that. Of course being a garden centre the missus will leave with five new house plants every time we visit...

Might be cheaper to find a local Instavolt 🫣
Looks like the units going in at Rheged, Penrith are getting close to opening - anyone know if they will be open to all?

The management of that garden centre definitely knew what they were doing when they agreed to have the chargers installed. They just need to keep a display of nice looking house plants within view of the chargers and they'll make a fortune!

15 minutes to kill, beside a garden centre? You're at your most vulnerable then!

Do garden centres actually sell gardening stuff now? When I have been dragged to them, kicking and screaming, all I noticed was their cafe and books and virtual anything non-garden related.
And now they are becoming charging hubs?

It’s like farms. Precious few are “just” farms growing crops or with livestock anymore. They’re having to diversify into B&Bs, ecotourism places, glamping/camping, farm shop, solar park. You name it, to keep the wolves at bay.

Yes, I get the farms need help with more income, but bloody garden centres?

Seems fair enough to me. Most of them have fairly decent car parking, so why not utilise it. It’s the limited access (of some) that doesn’t get correctly disseminated to satnav / EV routing etc that gets me.

Re: Harlington Superchargers, can anyone local confirm if you can get to the chargers outside of the garden centre's opening hours? Planning for a trip to London and this would be an ideal charging stop, but we're likely to arrive before the garden centre opens.

Tesla app shows rates for 24 hours, but street view shows that the entrance has gates so I don't want to turn up only to find the gates locked.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you should be able to. They were relocating the garden centre gates during construction to be further away from the road and 'tother side of the charging bays.

Was there yesterday but never really took much notice other than to note that there were a fair few stalls in use (mostly grey saloons).

The garden centre ( Poplars Garden Centre - 0800 026 8664 ) does some rather nice, large, scones when open.
