Granny charger - only 6 amps?

Staying away at Christmas and thought I’d use the granny charger aka the 240v charger.
With the I-Pace I would get a decent 3kW on it.
For same socket in same house, the Kia unit seems to pull 6 amps so 1.5kW.
Anyone else tried the charger?

Check for a button on the back. It may cycle between 6, 8 and 10 amps. Stop the charging first though, but leave the granny charger on, but not plugged in to the car.
If it's not that then it may be set up in the cars setting to charge at minimum, rather t he an full or reduced.
Are you saying though you get 3kW off the same charger with the ipace?

2.2kW is the most I have ever managed on the few occasions I have used the granny charger on my I-Pace!

Based on what measurement?

You would never get 3kW out of a granny charger, unless you're in EU and it is a Schuko plug.

If the car's accessories are drawing 500W while charging, and the charger efficiency is taking its toll, that might account for the difference in charge rate, if you are assessing it on charge rate.

To get an apparent 1.5kWh into your battery per hour, you might well be drawing the full 10 A (2.3kW) out of the plug.
