ID.4 missing from VW UK configurator

Looking at the VW UK website, they encourage you to contact a dealer about getting a stock car, but the online configurator for the ID.4 is missing.

I wonder what's going on? There are some excellent deals on stock ID.4's, and a friend of mine has just got a great deal on a business lease. Why can't you do a factory order though?

I suspect its the usual life-cycle of a car model. The 2024 facelifted model has been announced and has some significant improvements, notably the new motor / transmission package from the ID.7 and (possibly) the 85kWh battery too. I believe the infotainment will be the same as ID.7 too, so V4.0 software and better hardware. It is likely the factory is starting to produce those models and VW do not want to be left with stocks of the original spec. cars hence 'buy a stock car'.
