Indeed. There will be 65 Ionity sites in the UK total - the existing 22, the 10 variously in construction and the 33 new Village Hotels sites. The rough timetable, if it can be believed, for the Village Hotels sites (compared to the average Ionity construction time in the UK), is very aggressive indeed.

All these sites to be operational by 2024.

Village hotels: There's some useful locations for long distance travelling and will help fill the gap before MSAs all have decent charging hubs (2035?).
The majority of those village hotel locations are already fairly well served by charging hubs; there is no revolution here but it'll help to provide extra competition and capacity for more new cars. The Portsmouth one is out on a limb with no other hubs but not sure about any of the others (edit, maybe Blackpool too?)
The new Ionity site that I'm most interested in is Singing Kettle.

Well, yes, though there are some decent areas around Blackpool and the Cricket ground in Stanley park is decent for the occasional Lancashire match (which happens to be by the village hotel).

Swansea
Swansea Village Hotel will effectively create a secondary motorway services (though comfortably off the motorway) serving the East side which would be great.
You have the huge Gridserve set up to the West and then you'd have this on the East with a handy Starbucks right next to it (from memory, I think that's still there?).

Pity Fort William is not on that list. It was on a previous thread.

I use ionity all the time as I got a year of it at 25p per kWh and now on 31p on Elli.

I have used them for travelling over to Norway and this weekend it’s all I need to get to, South wales and back To scotland. Going to try out the 12 charger Starbucks at Carlisle.

The list in the OP's post is the currently in-construction sites from Ionity own maps, and the announced sites for Village Hotels. It doesnt include planning applications, which I'm assuming hasnt been removed or rejected at Fort William.

As far as I know fort William is still going ahead

They better crack on, Tesla just opened up their 6 units at Fort William today to non-Tesla's (amongst also Inverness and Eurocentral). Get the bagpipes ooot 😎

I just hope they are putting in at least 8 and hopefully 12+ at each site. A downside of being at a Village Hotel (there is one close by to me in Cardiff) is that there are often gyms/meetings rooms, swimming pools, cafes, restaurants and of course hotel rooms, so I envisage people just plugging in and buggering off for half a day. I hope they have proper overstay charges like Tesla. And I also suspect you will get ICE'ing as well at busier times. Time will tell.
Now I have lost my cheap Ionity deal via Hyundai (25p/kWh) after 2 years, the Ionity price has now gone up to 74p/kWh. OUCH!
Even with the Hyundai based new Ionity contract offer which is 15p/kWh discount which would make it 59p/kWh. But at a cost of £6.99/month. That is a big jump from 25p/kWh.
I am banking on Tesla fitting a lot more of their V4 chargers all over the place for me to use!

There was talk recently of Ionity Beaconsfield getting an on site battery to support the grid connection. I rarely saw over 90kw there when I would expect 150kw.
but a mate stopped there in his Taycan last week and got 270kw. Maybe the battery is installed.

As for Blackpool, i was up there in August. Stayed at the Hampton Hilton. Fuuse AC charging in the car park at only 35p kWh. Tram stop right outside.

Just stopped at Beaconsfield to charge. Ionity was full so went to Gridserve. Failed after a few percent so moved to the free charger on ionity. 4 cars charging at 67kw (including a Taycan) and 2 in the high 90s at 13kw. No battery then.

Three cars waiting as well.

Once the site is listed by them as ‘in construction’ it’s already had all planning approvals done and dusted.

So really down to them for site construction / groundworks etc. and of course DNO / grid conn. from that point forward. They’re probably not going to bother too deep with DNO until they get the planning sorted. So I’d imagine the construction delays are really down to the grid conn and how that’s managed and delivered. Challenging no doubt, as with any operator, some of whom grumble more publicly about it.
