My ionity card arrived today. The QR code to activate didn't work (and never will work).

Manual activation did work in app did though, but was clunky. No RFID Integration.

You can block and unblock the card instantly.

This site is of note as it’s the first (that I’ve seen anyway!) distributed Alpitronic HYC1000 megawatt (1000kW) charger in the UK planning system.

 

I wasn’t expecting IONITY to deploy MCS in such a location. Perhaps they’ll “turn down the volume” and run the dispensers at 500kW per bay!?

That stretch of the A12 really could do with more rapid charger provision. So this is good to see from IONiTY. Can see it’s been a while in the making.

 

I was just looking at the Dunbar area and noticed that Ionity Dunbar is marked on Apple Maps. A bit more research and I see it’s on Plugshare. Apparently it’s going to be at the Starbucks new store at Dunbear Park. Anyone in that area know how it’s progressing? It’s not on Ionity constructions yet so probably a bit away but this station will help me make a journey from Yorkshire to Aberdeenshire a 3 charge stop instead of 4. I can also avoid Alnwick which can sometimes be a bit chock-a-block.

 

I’d put that down to an Apple Maps fudge up. Can’t recall seeing or hearing anything on here or elsewhere about an IONITY site in Dunbar.
