Hi,

Anyone know what replacement battery fits the Zoe key card? Mine recently came up with a battery low message so I replaced it with a CR2025. It looked the same & the original had no markings on it. But now its coming up with the same error message as before.

Thanks,

Bruce

Manual also states you may need to do the following to get rid of 'Low Battery message'

When refitting, proceed in the reverse
order, then depending on the vehicle,
press one of the buttons on the card
four times, close to the vehicle: the
message will disappear.

Note: it is not advisable to touch the
electronic circuit or contacts on the
RENAULT card when replacing the battery.

Hi,

Just an update on batteries. It turns out that the CR2016 was too small & therefore the key card didn't work but the emergency key did...although it didn't switch the alarm off!! But no one takes any notice of car alarms so no real issues with that.

The correct battery is the DL2025 & the card works as it should now.

I can now not only get into the key card in double quick time but also under "field" conditions.

Thanks All.

Yep it is the CR2032. And to get access to the battery to change it use the emergency key to prise open the tab holding the battery. I was originally worried about breaking this as it seems flimsy but after watching a YouTube video I found it really easy. And yes the batteries can be really cheap although I have to say I would not necessarily trust a Poundland battery..

I decided to give my spare keycard an outing, as it only gets used when the car goes in for a service. After a short while I got the low battery warning, so I replaced the CR2032.

I didn't test it at the time, but when I tried to use it the following day, it didn't work unless I was about 30cm from the car, even pressing the buttons. I suspected a faulty battery, so I put the original battery back in, but it was the same. I thought that I may have damaged the keycard with the flexing required to access the battery, so I got the other keycard out, but it showed the same symptoms.

I tried starting the car in case it needed to re-establish communication with the card, but there was no improvement.

After driving to a friend's (about 30 miles), the keycard was all working correctly when we arrived. I don't know what that was all about. I had changed the battery in the original keycard a couple of times, and never had this sort of problem.

The only problem we have had is when the spare key card is in close proximity to the car. That seems to confuse the car e.g. Not enabling auto lock on move away. Ours was in a kitchen drawer that happened to back onto the garage. When i moved the key elsewhere the problem went away
