Keyless Entry

How is the keyless entry working for people? According to the manual it should unlock automatically once I get within range, however mine doesn't do this. It'll only unlock if I push the button on the handle or use the unlock button on the remote.

I've checked the settings in the car and it's enabled, it just doesn't seem to work.

Keyless entry is the button touch one. Handsfree is the approach unlocking where you don't need to do a thing. They are different. If it just says keyless then technically you have got keyless. It's just not the keyless you thought. I'd go back to the dealer and ask them about handsfree and whether there is an update. It does work massively better than the standard touch entry.

my corsa now has hands free lock and unlock. To enable it, unlock car with the button on the key and then press the lock button and hold it down for at least 5 seconds.
The dealer had already done this when I picked my car up today and quickly told me how to activate it on my spare. Tried a couple of times before it worked as I don’t think I held button long enough but it now works perfectly. Hopefully useful information for anybody without this function.

Hi there,

Have you had the option come up on the settings menu in the car?

Would you mind checking to see if this option is now showing on your settings menu?

This is what mine currently looks like.

I've followed the steps above a good 4 or 5 times this morning and its still not working on my Elite Nav Premium.

Just so I understand the process:

1) Unlock the car with the key fob
2) Press the lock button for at least 5 seconds to activate the feature

Ok, I’ve spoke to the technician and he told me that he did an update to the system config and that you would have to take yours to your local dealer to get this done.

He didn’t tell me this at the time and made it sound like it was just the button presses on the fob that corrected it. It still doesn’t have it as an option in the menu on mine but I’m not bothered as it works much better than the touch sensor on the handle or gettin the fob out of my pocket.

Thanks for checking this with them. I’ll mention it to my dealer when it’s in for its first service in a few months time 👍🏻

I spoke to my dealer about this update and whilst they were being coy about it, I insisted that they double check and they reluctantly admitted that there is an updte but they were talking with “Germany” to clarify exactly what is involved and whether it is a chargeable update..

I am still waiting to hear back from them which means that they are reluctant to these updates as they obviously do not add to their bottom line. I told them that I was not going to accept a charge for an update that restores a function that was advertised as being a feature that was missing.

Vauxhall Customer Service were useless and insisted that it was nothing to do with them. I will chase this up again with my dealer but I fear that only the threat of a class action suit will force some movement on this issue for most people.

I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that Vauxhall are either hugely incompetent or really don't give a monkeys about customer care at all. The brick wall I've had with them trying to get ANY of the issues I've had fixed. Not one has been fixed by them. The only one that has been resolved was due to changing car as it removed the issue with the appalling keyless!

The handsfree does exist as I have it on the car I have. I still haven't found out when it was actually built either. The software date was March anyway so it's not as if they've updated that.

The July 2020 user manual says you can unlock the car with a phone app. Still not available. The handsfree was actually advertised as working in the January 2020 one so they have a history of being inaccurate.

Charging money for it? Ridiculous! My dealership has only one guy who trained as an electric vehicle technician. All the others are regular mechanics and the rest of the service department have no clue when it relates to ev problems.
It was only when I spoke to him that he understood what I was saying about a number of issues. The keyless entry was discussed and he said he will look into it and that it maybe an update required. As I said earlier, he told me it was just a change/ update of the config file. I’m assuming this is something they can all do. Tell them to get in touch with Arnold Clark Blackpool and speak to the service department there. Keep on at them to get it sorted, good luck.

Hi there. So, I know it's been a while, but I have a 2019 diesel ultimate nav (2020 model), and hands free access appears in the owners manual, and the car has all extras, so it's very probable that it has that one either. However, it isn't also in my infotainment and doesn't work.
Would you mind asking your dealer if the update he did tou your Corsa only works on the electric ones or if it's for all of them? As far as I've seen, all models (electric and non-eletric) appear only having keyless entry, not hands free, and I can't find a lot of things regarding this topic, only this forum basically.
Thanks for the help.

Not sure if it will help anyone or not, but when I changed from the Corsa-E to the Mokka-E three or so weeks ago I was talking to the salesman about the keyless entry on the Corsa-E.

He was saying that there was an update to the Corsa-E at some point in 2020 and that those models had the keyless entry function added to them.

It works a dream on the launch edition Mokka-E I have now.
