As you've just ordered it, a November delivery sounds very good - if true. I ordered a 4 on June 7 and I have no build or delivery dates from the dealer except 'late October'.
If I ordered 2 months ago I would be insisting that the dealer shared the Kia progress screen with me. The car should be built with a chassis number ages ago( with a shipping date)

I intend to when I go for a test drive on 25th. I have a feeling this is something to do with the HK issue (I should get it as ordered before the cut-off but maybe they're searching Ebay for parts!). If it isn't built or about to be built by then I can't see October being viable.
Funny thing is I originally decided to take a punt on ordering due to the lead times in the industry, i.e. it would make sure I got it by next spring! Once it became obvious cars would be arriving now, it got my hopes up for an autumn delivery.

1-2 weeks to get on a ship
This is the bit with the most uncertainty once the car is built...

3-6 weeks between sailings recently.

Yes I will believe the delivery date when it arrives! Luckily we are in no particular hurry to get it. I will chase up the dealer soon to see if he can update a more specific delivery time.
I would just chase the dealer for the build date, once that is confirmed the rest falls into place, but until the car is built any delivery date is just a statement of hope :)

Visited my Dealer today, KIA Springburn, Glasgow. He had about a dozen on his screen with a build date, the only one without a build date was mine, and it was ordered 20th June. There was a black 2 EV for test drives, and a hybrid in the showroom.

Do you mind if ask what grade and spec, colour etc you have ordered? Just trying to see if there's a pattern here for the apparently delayed cars.
Thanks

Hi Steve, don`t mind at all. Ordered a Cityscape Green 4, no heat pump, no odd coloured side panels! Hope cars have not been delayed, may`be just not built yet? Len.
Thanks for that. The common factors seem to be we both have ordered 4s and before the HK cut off date, and no contrasting C pillars. Mine's a Mineral Blue and has a heat pump. I do have a feeling HK has something to do with this. Mine was ordered 7 June.

I am also yet to receive a build date. Mine was ordered 21st June. It’s a 4 in Orange Flame with no contrasting C pillars and no heat pump. You may be onto something with HK being a factor …

Same here ‘4’ ordered mid/late June, no update but going for test drive later this week so we’ll see..

Well, I've just had a call from the dealer - not only is my car built but it's on a ship! You could have knocked me down with a feather. He said arrival at the dealers about mid-September. Am I right in thinking that the only ship currently on its way is the Morning Catherine? If so what dates look feasible to you Mark?
I'm more convinced than ever that this 'radio silence' that has affected many of us who ordered 4s in June is down to the HK issue. If others don't hear from your dealer today, maybe worth ringing them. This seems to be an update to their system this morning.

Sorry to slighty hijack the thread but do you guys think deliveries of the new eniro being made might drive down the price slightly of 1-2 Years old outgoing versions? Really want to get one but the new ones price is a bit beyond what my wife would sign off

There is nothing known to be at sea at the moment, and the next ship, Morning Catherine, is not due to leave for another couple of days. She is currently a days sail away in China.

She would arrive at Immingham/Grimsby around 11th September which would normally translate to at the dealer around 10-14 days later so a close match for your date.

If there is another ship out there it is not on the Eukor schedule...

I might suggest asking the dealer what date it shows as being 'shipped' ... ... but if it is built and ready it does look like you'll have it before the end of September either way...

I just emailed him to confirm the dates and all I got back was 'ETA 12 September'. That's rather close to your date of arrival in UK. He's not very reliable so I think he is referring to arrival at port. That's fine by me as I'm away last week of September. So when he said on the phone about it being on a ship, I assume that must mean allocated to a ship?
