Very interested in the new MG ZS EV see that it comes with the same button layout as previous model i.e. KERS for regen setting. I assume there is no one pedal setting as this is not stated anywhere on the list of specs.
Will be coming from a gen 1 leaf so used to creep mode and slight use of braking. My question to MG owners is does the regen levels have a significant difference in slowing the car down? Thanks in anticipation.

I never use the KERS switch. I permanently leave it in setting 3 (highest).
By careful use of the throttle pedal you can vary the degree of KERS without resorting to the KERS switch.

I thought it reverted to kers2 when turned off?
Just asking as you say you never use the switch.

My mg5 always tests to kers2, on the way to work that's fine but on the way back in traffic i change it to 3.

I have the current ZS EV.
Kers level 1 is pretty much just free wheeling. The amount of braking is minimal.
Level 3 applies a really good level of braking so you can ‘one pedal’ drive with this to a degree, but it eases off below about 10mph so won’t bring you to a complete stop.
The car defaults to 3 every time you start up.

He is right and wrong 😑!.
The voice control WILL work to make commands to the car, but depending on which model you have, will depend on what number of functions it can command.
The SE and the Trophy will accept voice commands to your phone to make calls.
BUT - If you wish to voice command the sun roof or the climate control etc.
Then you need the full spec Trophy IConnect model with the added £500 costs.

Thanks @WalkingBootWeather -
But I don't think I said that ???.
SE model is not equipped with the sun roof.
But even so, the SE model still has a limited function voice control button ( as I said in the post above ) but it will only perform basic tasks.
E.G - Like to call a number from the stored list in your mobile phone on request.
You have to choose the Trophy level of trim to get the full sun roof regardless ?.
With this model, you will only have the same limited functions PHONE request functions like the SE.
So, to be clear.
Standard Trophy model ( sun roof included ) does NOT come equipped with the facility to command the sun roof open / closed or control over the climate / Sat Nav instructions from the command button on the steering wheel.
It is my understanding that the car is not carrying the hard ware from the factory to provide this facility.
It is NOT just a software improvement that can be added at a latter date.
You have to order the FULL spec Trophy I.Connect model ( £500 option ) IF you want to have FULL voice command control from the button on the steering wheel !.
This WILL respond to voice requests to open / close sun roof / increase or decrease the temp from the climate control etc etc.
If you want this facility, you have to get the Trophy I.Connect.
The I.Connect feature offers a lot more other features as well of course.
You have to make a judgement on if these extra features are important to you, in order to justify the extra £500 price tag.
Hope this clears up any misunderstanding !.

Tried all regen modes on my test drive and level 3 default on start up is strongest when coming from over 40mph almost stops but seems to not have same effect from lower speeds. A little more regen than gen 1 leaf I have used to creep so not a big deal one pedal would be nice but hey-ho.

I had a test drive of a new ZS this week. The regen worked as expected, but am I right in thinking the brake pedal is friction brakes only and doesn't control regen? If I put KERS onto setting 1 or 2, pressing the brake didn't have any effect upon the amount of regen (I was watching the power display). Interesting, pressing the brake in KERS 3 did seem to increase the regen slightly.
Not a big deal as I think I'd just drive it in KERS 3 all the time, but seemed slightly odd.

Nope, Pressing brake pedal increases regen up to a point much like most other EVs. If the battery is mostly full then you'll waste energy with the friction brakes but the ZS puts a decent amount of regen into the pack compared to some other EVs. And in sudden or firmer braking then it'll use friction.
