New eGolf has arrived! Car-net issues already....

Chuffed that my eGolf has made it to me and have taken it for a spin too, think I will like going electric!

Car-net/We Connect is proving a bit stubborn though. I had to get an activation code via internet browser rather than the app as no number was displaying in the app. According to my laptop, the connection between car and WeConnect account has been made, but when I now try to access Car-net inside the car, it just produces a very short "error" message at the top of the screen then goes away.

Anyone know what my issue might be? It seems whatever it is, it is stopping me from using the app in the house to do things like heat windows etc....

Thanks in advance, pic attached! (As an aside, my order said Indium Grey as dealer didn't have any Urano, but is it my eyesight or is this car Urano.....??)

I think it took a while for ours to get properly registered. I couldn't connect to my car at all the first two days. I'd suggest just trying it periodically for a day or so, it should work eventually.

I suspected the issue was something to do with the large number of new cars being registered in September & the system just couldn't keep up.

Thanks for posting this issue. I too have a brand new eGolf (Oryx White) and I tried Car Net in the car and got the error too. I will persist and keep an eye on this thread for further solutions. I haven't tried to pre-heat the car yet - mainly on account of me not having my charging point installed at home yet (which is due to be Pod Point) by the way.

I am the same it works via the app but in the car it doesn't it may require a hotspot for it to work.
Have any of you had the identification video call yet?

I needed to connect the car to my home wifi (on the drive) for it to work.

That's how you get the car to register itself on the system, yes. But some of us had trouble connecting to the car from the WeConnect app even after the car says it's successfully registered. Both my son & I had the same issue when we collected our cars. After some retrying both started working after around 24 hours or so.

My carnet setup wasn’t smooth either, spoke to a very helpful German gentleman in the end, who assured me that the servers in Germany would need to update.

I was a bit sceptical, but sure enough the next day it was working fine.

Hopefully it’ll all sync up soon.

Like the colour too, same as mine! (y)
