Hi my nissan leaf has auto dimming on the headlights.
They work on straight roads pretty well.
As soon as you are going around a corner and it'd dipped down but until the stearing wheel goes back through the horizontal position it will not come back to full beam.
I could be going around a corner for ages but until you straighten up it will not come back on.
I had a courtesy leaf and it was the same.
so does Anyone know if this is a design fault or is this what'd ment to happen.
Thanks andy
Ps iam dyslexic so please don't just slag my question for bad grammar please.

I'd not noticed that behaviour, but I had noticed that it can take a few seconds to return to full beam. I wonder if the system is waiting until the camera gets a clear view of the road ahead before it returns to full beam. 🤔

Other system behaviour has reinforced my view that the automation is configured for wide, straight roads. And indeed, there's a caveat to that effect in one part of the manual (the ProPilot section, iirc).

Wife's car does the same thing, have been used to my car that is multi zone dipping etc (creates a light tunnel) and it felt strange when the only time I've driven hers at night that it didn't come back on. The BMW is almost instant to dip/bright for the zones etc, so had got used to it.

My car was always like that (2019 Leaf) and I think it is how the software is programmed, the steering wheel has to be perfectly straight for a few seconds in order for high beam to come back on.
That's my first car with Auto High beam, I find it fairly OK in dry weather and fairly straight roads but on bends and hills and rainy weather, not so great, not dipping down on time or turning back on with a car oncoming in distance.
