Octopus free electricity looks to of apeared today. Any thoughts. Basicaly the exact oposite of the saving sessions wanting you to use more for the period. You will get a credit to cover the price of any extra you use.
They are paying those expenses anyway... Im sure they know the math better than us !! LOLIf the charge you nothing for a unit, it is still costing them between 3.6p-6.8p/kWh to deliver it to you. So they need to get at least that in negative wholesale or balancing revenue to break even. I can't think of many times I have seen wholesale prices at -£40/MWh let alone -£70/MWh. Intraday and balancing prices might and balancing prices definitely can.
