Very happy with EON nextdrive over past 5 months. Only negatives are: app gives correct kWh consumption but cannot implement the differential rates so all shown at daytime cost; billing statements have been random not monthly for me which is irritating but they do seem to be correct. As already said no conditions on car or charger just cheaper night time electricity.

When we switched from Octopus 7 days passed with no sign of anything happening, on day 8 we were on the standard Eon tariff, and on day 9 we were on the Next Drive tariff.

When you are able to login to the Eon website there was a button to start the switch to Next Drive even before the switch from the previous supplier had completed, maybe that helped...

Has anyone had a proper itemised bill since moving to the EV tariff?

I'm on the tariff via Sainsbury's and they don't seem to know how to produce an itimised statement. They are billing the amounts but not making statements, support advised there is a technical issue and no timescale for resolution.

I twice emailed to ask for a statement (first time after 7 weeks on thr new tariff) and, after a week, one did arrive which was correctly set out. Then 10 days later another statement arrive for that 10 day period! They seem to need prompting in my experience.

If that was august-ish then i think they offered a tariff that they hadn't setup the back end for correctly.
The bills are correct even if the IHD isn't - first showing high rate for all usage , now the night rate for usage in the day.

Ive now moved to E.On and been told the Drive tariff is active.
Do folk know how the the TOU is implemented for billing, and interaction with Smart Meter and DCC ?
E.g do E.ON retrospectively adjust billing for electricity used during the off-peak, or is it done real-time?
The reason I ask is that a 3rd party tool (Bright/Glowmarkt) doesnt seem to show the cheaper tariff during off-peak, and my IHD only shows the Flex rate and therefore daily use is ÂŁÂŁÂŁ.

Need a way to prove Im getting the cheaper rate off peak, as concerned Im charging car and batts at full wack.......

For me the IHD does what it wants, at first it only showed total usage but at the higher rate, now it shows total usage but all multiplied by the lower rate.
When the bills arrive they should be accurate, ie- show xkwh @ the lower rate and xxkwh at the higher rate.
Sadly, for me atm there is no way of accurately checking against that as its all usage - house and car - from midnight till 7 and 7 till midnight t the higher tariff.
I'm unsure if anyone else has a way of splitting the usage to compare.

It seems correct so far however, since just before xmas the app doesn't show my daily usage.
There is a message about them working on it.

The app just shows amount for units at full rate.

Bill will show off peak units and peak units.

i would say if bright is getting your 30 min readings you just need to make sure your tariff is configured correctly within bright.

IHD likely wont support the tou rates based on other posts on here.

I use the 'Hugo' app, in there I'm able to define what my rates/hours are, so it can give a proper representation of how much the usage is costing.

Billing is a bit of a mess for me, they've not managed to produce a proper statement but they did send me a screenshot of a period of usage which looked good.

Thanks - I was hoping to try and confirm that EON/meter/DCC has received the correct tariffs, rather than telling one of the apps myself - dont want to find a massive bill because I thought I was getting the cheaper rate.

On my IHD - the tariff is showing the Flex rate, which is why Im concerned - the Bright/GlowMarkt also says the same, and the Tariff history shows only one update from close-to-the-date of the switchover.
Bizarrely, Bright is showing a Gas Tariff update daily......
