Still don’t understand why my monthly costs seem higher than most as we are a two person household living in a 3 bed semi with a 4kWh PV system. Both me and the wife are retired and neither of us spend a lot of time in the house🤷
unless I’m reading it wrong, that screenshot doesn’t say antyhing about your bills, only your monthly payment which may well be estimated by Eon on your previous usage.

you need your actual meter readings from your bill (or take manually if you’re thinking its wrong) then working out exactly what you’re using.

It may not be massively lower - you could be a heavy user without realising especially at home all day - but check the meter and check what the bill says you used and compare.

Lol - now you can join the debate as to whether the cheap rate is midnight-7am BST or is it actually 11pm to 6am currently. :) as it seems very unclear right now. The EON app is working on GMT time as is the Smart Meter so the daily usage its calculating is from 11pm to 11pm the next day, If you install the Bright app and import the Smart Meter data you can at least get a corrected usage graph as you can set that to BST and it all tally's perfectly. However until someone has an actual Next Drive bill we are all hedging our bets as to the exact timings of the off peak window and if EON are correcting for BST

My email says it is always 12-7 regardless of gmt bst.

"Charging your vehicle - In order for you to benefit from the reduction in cost for charging your electric vehicle, you must charge between midnight and 7am. These time are all year round, regardless of GMT and BST"

So to me that means it moves with the clocks.

wow - where did you find that bit of text from! Thats the first thing I have seen clearly clarifying the position. There is a thread running on E.ON Next Community forum and also Monry Saving expert discussing and nobody has come up with that text yet.

I've joined Eon Next Drive as a customer (Midlands) in late July (from ShellEnergy). I have a Gen1 Smart meter and it took 5days from joining to switchover to an EV Tariff

My Tariff is
E: 9.5p (12-7am) 32.37p (7am-12am) StandingCharge 50.31p
G: 7.06p StandingCharge 29.11p

My IVIE IHD hasn't been updated at all and is still showing the old fixed tariff

I'm also confused with the charges on the app as it doesn't tally with the ones on the IVIE (the accurate readings from the phone app which is BASED ON MY CURRENT Tariff).
Won't know how accurate this is until I receive my 1st statement

Saying that, my bill for Aug is already signicantly less than July's !

Considering switching over from Octopus Flux to Eon next drive, but have had very bad customer service previously from other companies so a bit reluctant. I have an A250e hybrid car but mainly charge this at work, would use the cheap rate to charge my 10kwh battery which is connected to 5.5kwp of PV during the winter months. I just wish Octopus had a better tariff that you didn't need a car charger for, currently just charge a250e with 3 pin on smart plug when i have excess solar.

Is it all working well for those who have switched, I've only just got my octopus mini installed at home last week too :(

If I switch will use the link above.

I've been with Sainsburys Energy (E.ON Next) for almost 2 years. On the few times I've reached out to customer services (via email) I've always had super rapid responses. They sorted a smart meter within a couple of weeks too. No complaints from me in relation to the customer services.

Hi. The only issue I have so far (have only been with them for 7+ weeks) is the 'inaccurate' app .
Hoping that will be corrected eventually
I've also started using my washing machines/dish washers after midnight now.

About switching... we've got an old SMETS1 meter that has only ever been used by Octopus; would Eon be able to use it as well, or would they have to swap it for a newer one?

I'm wondering about switching to this tariff at some point but when depends on whether it will involve having to wait ages for a new meter...

No problems switching. Had bad experience with eon in the past but moved as was only able to get go (4hours) with octopus. Switched and moved onto the ev tariff within about 10 days total.

Really liking the 12-7 cheap rate. Get up early so can do a lot between 5:30 & 7 all at cheap rate.

I agree the app isnt as good as octopus but I dont patocularly cafe as long as my bills are correct.

Just done a quick comparison adding eon next to my octopus compare app. I know usage will be different during the winter with less sun. Can you tell when I had my PV and battery installed 😉

Think I'll go on agile better rates during the day to offset if you did need to use some kWh. Or could just stay on flux looking like eon next would be cheaper though, but not much compared to agile.

My referral link for anyone interested [emoji106]

I joined with our link, they are not giving me my referral, saying "will get once we both pay 1 direct debit" but i already paid 2 of them. did you get a referall balance off my join?

I switched to Eon Next drive however....
The midnight - 7am tariff isn't showing on my app as yet, after 5 weeks of actually commencing the tariff once they started getting 30min meter readings:mad:
I even sent manual readings to try and force a statement, thinking it would show the 2 prices on the statement.

The app, and IHD which is no surprise, only show usage at 30ppkwh -easy to spot after a charge.
I rang on Monday and the guy said they had an issue atm and it should be sorted within 7 days.
I did advise i would be ringing back next Friday if nothing changes in between.

Anyone else noticed this on their app? Or is it just me?
