Ohme app update.

Downloaded the latest Ohme app last night, which to be fair doesn't seem much different!
The biggest disappointment for me is that you still have to login every time you change cars if you have have two cars and want to use the cars APIs.
I was hoping that if your cars were registered to the app it would be simple to swop between them.
I have been doing this for two years now and it is becoming a pain in the butt!
Ohme say it's not on the to do list, doh!

Which version is this, is it Android or apple as they are not usually in sync?
Last update for me was in April.

I heard they have removed the details for load management settings, seemingly to hide the fact they corrupted the setting for the ePod when they updated that.

Can anyone confirm?

Ohme Firmware Version 2.65
App Version 2.0.0 (1857)
api.ohme.io
On Apple iOS 17.5.1

Landing page now looks like this:

This page has a ‘Dynamic Charging’ option which to my recollection, wasn’t present before (or perhaps was elsewhere, or implicit with other settings?). There’s also a conspicuous Solar option on the Ohme page (top right icon above) which again, I don’t recall on the previous app but as I don’t have solar, it may similarly have been buried elsewhere:

Android
Version: 1.31.1(2002437)

This update was in April.

Often an app is developed for Android and then ported to IOS or vice versa.

For those still on the Android version above it's still possible to check your load limit settings which for some were corrupted and show as 0A rather than what it was set to during installation. The problem might only affect ePods but anyone who cares might want to check theirs.
Someone mentioned the newer app omits the value altogether, regardless of it's importance.
However Ohme decide to interpret 0A it wont be what it was set to at installation so it's worth having it rectified while you can.

I requested they set mine to 80A although I have been told I have a 100A fuse.
Ohme confirmed that my ePod was indeed set to 0A as displayed in the app at that time although it was actually set to 60A during installation.
Seems an update wiped the setting.

It's unclear how many ePods are affected by this or how 0 is being interpreted but at least the units still charge, perhaps with no restriction or a "safe" load limit has been inferred which might cause issues for those with heavy usage.

Either way, the new app appears to hide the setting as a way to minimise folk getting them to put it right. My advice is get it fixed before it's hidden away or live with no knowledge of how the corrupted setting might affect your charging or safety.

Charged last night to 80% with no problems at all (The table showed the charging slots).
The only real difference I can see apart from the new look is that that the hard to see charging graph has been replace by a dynamic when it's charging table.
I just wish they'd taken the opportunity to have two cars on board, a glaring omission IMHO.

2 Places to set a Charge Session ? Confused ….

In the new version of the app, there seems to be two separate places where you can set the added «Charge to add» % and «Ready by» time, and as you can see from the examples here, it’s possible to set them differently:

and

So which one of them is used? Has anyone else come across this?

I noticed that but "Charge to add" and "Ready by" on the "YOUR NEXT CHARGE" page change to reflect whatever I've set in the named routine. I only have one routine (add 100% by 04:00, seven days a week). If I change anything in that routine that would affect the next charge, the information on the "YOUR NEXT CHARGE" page changes too.

Did you change the "Charge to add" from 20% to 22% and the "Ready by" from 7:30 to 7:00 or did Ohme do that?

I changed each separately, manually. Last time, I noticed I’d changed one but the other had remained as before, so edited them to match. So I wondered what would happen if I only changed one. I can understand the app showing the same thing on different pages, but it seems odd that I can set the same parameters differently on two pages.

[Edit: It looks like the settings in the Routine>Edit Routine page are the primary source and whatever you set here is then mirrored on the Home page.]

When I ran this charge session, once it completed, it looked like the 22% setting took precedence.

Just as a test, I may do another charge sometime with one set to 0% and the other to 10%, say, and see what happens.

Personally, I quite liked the charging graph. It was reassuring that I could see a session was running as expected. Given the awfulness of the Stellantis app, and it's regular inability even to connect and even if it does, show an out-of-date charge% figure, I found this feature useful.

This will be down to the OBC loss mapping, which isn't perfect. I don't think it takes into account losses in OBC efficiency as amperage drops nor difference in battery losses across the charge curve. So if your charges are all at 32A and in the 20%-80% range it will overcharge, but if it is all at 6A it tends to undershoot.

As mentioned above - this is definitely more than a vanity update.

Two very distinct new features which used to infuriate me by their absence:

(1) The ability to view the dynamic charging schedule generated with Intelligent Octopus following a plug in

(2) The ability to activate Max Charge from the app

In the case of (2) it was meant to be in the original version according to documentation but I could never find it.

Just had the update on my Samsung.
Annoying as I needed to change a schedule, ooh different app!?
Where on earth....

No fun when stood outside with nature trying to eat you as you take several minutes to do what is achieved in seconds when familiar. So now it's routines and you have to scroll to find them. Should be quicker to access than the old app.

Will have a dig about while I wait for the charge to start.

In spite of someone saying the Load Limit isn't displayed it actually is.
So that's a big plus.
Everyone seems to have the subscript, superscript ballsup in the usage screen but clicking on "View charge sessions" was a bit of a disappointment.
Smart charging savings seem to be a bit on the poorly made up side.
All my charges are smart yet some show a monetary saving but no C02 others show a CO2 saving but no monetary saving. There's also a few with no saving at all. I'm guessing on some data they have used to determine these figures as super top, top secret otherwise it would be nice for them to tell us how they arrived at the figures but they don't seem to be consistent with just the time of the charge.

I miss the crappy graph though, but it's a bit better and at least shows the charging power.

Mine are the same in the new app as per the old one.
Including approve plug in as a security measure.

The one charge so far with the new app did start much later than expected but did get me the full charge I wanted.

Regulated charging hours is OFF.

Hi, noob to ev's only had my megane 2 weeks but the ohme app was working perfectly for schedules up until this new update, now the app shows its charged but nothing goes into the car at all. Max charge works its just the schedule/routine that doesnt, as soon as i unplug the cable the app then shows same as the car but before that shows charge when infact it hasnt. Anyone else had this issue recently. Thanks

I have an ePod, it charged my Megane without any issues.
Which Ohme are you using?

I have 4 schedules, the newer app lists them as routines. Essentially I update a schedule and select just that one as being active. This caters for charging either outside of the over night slot or for charging to a different SoC.

When I set things up everything was fully authenticated so perhaps you neglected to do that. Of course, that was on the Octopus IOG side of things so might not be relevant to you.

Apart from a different look and a bit of renaming the new app should function without issue.

If your is doing something strange then it might be worth looking at what you have set and further details of things like tariff, actual time of plugging in, etc.
Hopefully something simple to get it working again.
