I try to use a Netgear wifi extender but as the extended network has a different name than the car wifi net, the app refuse to connect as it considers the extended net to be foreign.
What to do?

 

Can you change the sidd on the netgear to match the car? Will be remote something. Also make sure the security setting is the same and the password.

I doubt one can have two wifi with same SSID? Password are the same though

 

You can have two wifi with the same SSID, that is how large wireless networks work - I have all 3 access points in my house with the same SSID and password, that way my devices roam between them...

Yes you need to remove the _ext when the sidds match the app thinks its logging into your car not the extender.

Make sure you are using wpa 2psk security as well.

I assume you have the 2013.B map. Newest is only one newer than that - the 2014.

I have it in mine, however I use Waze on my mobile phone - it's free and constantly up to date...

 

Maybe you can help me. I'm trying to connect to my Outlander with the app. I've removed _ext and am using wpa 2psk. Everytime I'm using the app, I get that the car is connected to another Smartphone. Any idea? I'm using the netgear N300 Wifi Range extender.

What is the range of the Wifi from the car? Has anyone tested this?
