I have a zappi 2.1 and intelligent octopus and according to myenergie this is a car problem not a charge point issue.

my car has charged fine for the last few months but last night after 2 or 3 hrs of charging the charging paused and in the zappi app the error charging delayed was flagged.

in my EV (a jaguar ipace) it is stuck on initializing.

i tried again this morning and once again after 2 hrs of charging ok, it has just thrown the error again. :(

my car is going in for its MOT on friday so i shall bring it up at jaguar then but i have this horrible fear jaguar will say it is a charge point problem and myenergie saying its a car issue with me stuck in the middle.

there isnt an error thrown on the car, and on top of that if i unplug it and then plug it in again it will likely work again.

has anyone else seen this issue, possibly with an ipace but to be honest could be any car.

apparently charge delayed means the electricity is offered to the car and the car rejects the charge.

i have no schedules or anything like that set on the car.

thanks

How old is the Zappi? They seem to be bothersome. Also how old is the 12v battery on the ipace? If this new trouble has coincided with cold weather there is a good chance the 12v is a bit low/goosed.

I'd definitely find another AC charge point to see whether it is fine on that. Also drive it around a bit to make sure the 12v is topped up too.

First action - a long 12v charge session using a mains smart charger that will analyse and recover a damaged 12v and then use a tailored algorithm to charge it to float voltage over 12 hours.

A reboot of the car's onboard puter systems by disconnecting the 12v for ten minutes.

Reboot the charge point by powering it off for ten minutes.

Followed by a classic elimination process.

#1 - Different car on the home charger. #2 - Different T2 to T2 cable to be tried. #3 - Connect to a different T2 AC charge point in public.

That should produce some valid data to ponder on.

Hi
thanks for all the replies. some of that i can action easily enough.....
my zappi is only 4 months old, the car has just come back from a 150 mile round trip so if that hasnt charged the 12v battery then god help it. I dont have a 12v battery charger. The car is 3 years old in December so presumably that is the age of the 12v battery. (one would hope it would last longer than that but it has done 43000 miles which may mean the battery has done more than usual).

i will charge our i3 tonight on the charge point and see what happens however as my ipace lasted 3 hrs last night before failing that wont be definitive.

we have 11kw AC charge points at work however and (unlike my zappi) are not tethered so that will also do a cable check, i can do that on thursday.

the car is going in for an MOT on Friday so i will get them to take a look as well.

I've had "charge delayed" once on a similar setup to you (IO controlling Zappi, at that point plugged into the Outlander). Rebooted the Zappi and it hasn't happened since. I still get the impression the connection from Octopus' servers to the Zappi is not totally reliable.
