Looking forward to getting a play in a Renault Duo, apparently they are launching it at the Paris Auto show next month (Mon, 14 Oct 2024 – Sun, 20 Oct 2024 ), hopefully we will get some independent first drive reviews to see how it stacks up against a Twizzy.

Having actual windows on the doors this time around seems like the best improvement to me and if I can just lease it for a month during summer to play around with, all the better! Can't see myself using one in the British winter although I know many Twizzy owners do! :)

Not heard of this before, so it's like a beefed up twizzy with better weatherproofing?

Does it go well do you think?

35,000 euros, after Gov rebate?

.. probably ...?

After failing to fit into a citroen ami due to my long legs hitting the non-adjustable steering wheel I hope the Duo is workable.

Insideevs: "The two seats are fully padded, providing the same comfort as in a regular car."

I hope they can be heated too!
I bought a heated seat cover for my van, for about £25 (missed the £5 ALDI deal!), which works perfectly from the 12v socket.

The handprints didn't do them any favours but it seems to go round corners which would overturn an AMI.

Needs wider everything.

The windscreen is heated, but you’re correct the pod on the dash is for aircon, I suspect it won’t be the most comfortable place to be in the rear seat of a Duo. I just need to check if my Ogio which I haul all my RC car race gear in fits on the backseat as that will be the deal clincher for me so I can use the Duo to go to race night on Mondays and commute to work the rest of the week.

Will need to get a female to female Type 2 connector to charge at home as I have a tethered home charger.

Another video with a more in depth view, apologies for the AI dubbed English audio, but better than nothing. 🙂

The video looks good but FFS bloody AI speech. It gives me a headache trying to listen to it.

Order book opens in Q2 or potentially April with deliveries in the summer, still no word on any test drives yet which I will need before making a decision. Want to find out how bad these un-assisted brakes are.

When I tested the Silence S04 they were horrendous and it was pretty toasty inside with no aircon!
I should image hardly any dealers will have a demo model unless they are mandated to have one.

Are there any VED concessions on these 'L7' vehicles (is that what it is?). Shame on Government if they stick you for the £195.

(Hence, it is limited to 21 hp (15 kW). I believe mass of battery is not counted in the MIRO.)

The VED system needs a total overhaul.

Perhaps we should have a thread on VED things? Not seen one for ... a few hours ...

In France it seems you can order a Duo with an integrated household plug or a type 2 plug. Since most cars have a type 2 socket not a plug I think this would stop you using granny chargers, meanwhile the household plug could be used on public chargers with an adapter.

Does anyone know of granny chargers with a type 2 socket instead of a plug? Alternatively this could be the first legitimate use for dangerous type 2 cable extenders.
