Hi everyone.

Before Christmas, I started to run into problems scheduling charging or the comfort timer from the car (ZE40). It seems that the car has become disconnected from and, after some digging, customer services have advised that the car's SIM card has been deactivated and needs replacing. Has anyone come across this and had to replace the SIM?

Thanks

Ours randomly disconnects quite a bit. The fuse or pulling the battery does the job.

Pulling the fuse is very fiddly. Long nose pliers help.

Recently I've just disconnected the 12v battery for about 20 mins and that does the same job, I find it easier personally!
That's interesting. Are there any risks to pulling the fuse - apart from losing it - and how do you disconnect the 12v battery?

I've had a Zoe from new that's coming up to 7 years old and we've had to pull the fuse a few times. It's brought back the connection each time. The last time I did it was November just gone (it had been disconnected since February) but I wanted to schedule charging overnight. It's worked fine over the last couple of months.

One thing you could try first is checking your service contracts in the My Renault app under "My Contracts."

If the subscription is active but the connectivity still isn’t working, customer services might be your best bet. They could confirm if a replacement SIM is needed or if there’s another issue. When contacting them, make sure you have the relevant account details ready and, if possible, the verification phone number linked to the car's connectivity services. This can help speed up troubleshooting.

Yeah - Zoes have an eSIM - in theory that means Renault could switch to use a different mobile network without a hardware change - so it means replacing the TCU if that part is faulty.
A year or so ago, mine stopped connecting - pulling the fuse didn't work (and I had an active subscription). I suspect faulty TCU (I know of a few people online who have had theirs replaced) but I realised I wasn't really using the connected services anyway, and at some point the network operators are going to pull the plug, so I've not bothered.
