Trunk light - any good aftermarket solutions?

I've been driving the car for a while now and am getting a bit annoyed by the poor lighting in the trunk, only one light on the side of the trunk. It's ok at best when the trunk is nearly empty and useless when filled with stuff.

  1. First, am I the only one annoyed by this?
  2. Second, anyone found any nice aftermarket solutions?

Well, no. The trunk light doubles as the holder for the trunk floor hatch so it's not a regular interior light where you can change the bulb. It's already LED and since I didn't pick the cargo package only one of my holders has lighting in it.

My thoughts were along the lines of led stripes on the sides but hoping to get some great advices or ideas that I haven't thought about.

Aah I see. If it is a festoon type bulb/led, you can buy festoon sockets with wiring to two pin adapters for ordinary LED strip. I have actuslly bought this also because I wanted to upgrade the GTE trunk lighting. It was not even LED even though all other lights are LED on this car. Get this ---> 5W COB Chip LED 24 led smd Car Interior Light Festoon Adapter 12V LED Hot and then some standard waterproof LED strip and stick it on the upper part of the trunk so it can light downwards. I think you will get in trouble (get cought) if applied towards the rear of the trunk if you need access to the latch....

Its the spring devices in the link I think you can use.

Get one of those low-profile cupboard led lights - battery powered but only come on when the cupboard door opens - and the light outside activates it.

It might need to be adjustable so it will work when its brighter than total darkness but I think you should have some options along those lines - then stick them on the bottom of the parcel shelf and the boot should be illuminated nicely.
