Has any one upgraded the headlight bulbs on i3. If so, what did you change to and did you find much of a differance?

I seriously considered fitting them, but I could not find a road legal option and would fail and MOT. If you're under warranty I don't know if non LED retrofit would have an implication. The brighter halogens are a good suggestion, but have quite a short lifespan.

It's very very annoying that the law isn't revised a little to make LED fitment kits that meet whatever specs/guidlines road legal for the car/s they are properly designed for..The big problem is the reflectors/bulb holder geometry is made for halogen bulbs and the LEDs don't give the correct beam throw etc..

P.S. It would also risk your insurance company refusing to pay out because you had non legal lighting fitted....or/and had not notified them about a modification.

I have fitted Philips x-tream to the dipped and Osram Nightbreakers to the main beam. They are definitely better than stock, but the mains are still pants.
As I do a lot of driving at night, I have been using Philips x-treme bulbs for quite a few years on different cars, and they have always lasted ok. The last set were in my Clio for 4 years.
