Volkswagen ID app not updating

Hi all,

The range on my ID app hasn't updated since last Friday - the top of the app says synchronised 5d ago. I've tried "Synchronise now" via the settings, it's still not working.

I notice when I drive, the signal strength meter on the display shows full signal, but with 'E' instead of '4G' - I've driven across town a few times this week, so I don't think it's a local issue.

I've just logged into the Volkswagen shop, and I can see I have all the subscriptions valid until 2025 ("We Connect"/"We Connect Start"/"We Connect Plus"). I've looked at "Mobile online services" on the app, and everything is ticked.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks - unfortunately I don't think that's going to work. I've just tried reinstalling the app, it's still the same. Also, if I go to the VW website and login, I can see the car details there haven't been updated for 6 days.

So I think it must be the car not sending to VW. If I go to the (reinstalled) app and say "synchronize now" it says "Vehicle data unavailable" "There may be a server issue at the moment. Please try again later".

Thanks - yes, I thought it must be something like that, but when I go to the "Mobile online services and functions for on the move" section of the website, I can see that We Connect and We Connect Plus are both active until November 2025. The only other services in that section are "We Charge", "Games" and "Vehicle Sevice" (all already active).

Or is there another service I'm missing?

No, that's everything.
I would double check you haven't somehow disabled one of the permissions in the user menu privacy settings (in the car). It might also be worth emailing VW tech support via the email address in the VW app. Otherwise it may be a case of waiting to see if it fixes itself. Losses of connectivity for a few days to a week used to be common (it happened to me once 2 years ago) but are now much rarer. If you can't work out a fix and it's still down after another week I'd take it to the dealer (if in warranty).
