What should I do if cable stuck - Renault Zoe

Hi, I have an older Renault Zoe & have struggled a few times with getting the cable out whilst charging on my Type 2 AC home charger.

Does anyone have any top tips on what I can do that doesn't require calling someone to help?

I heard something about making sure my windows are down. Does anyone know anything about this?

Any tips will help! Cheers.

Push the plug IN before trying to press the release button. I suspect you are pulling out and expecting the button to work (which is designed to stop the plug coming out, so it'd be under strain until to push it in to release that strain).

Giving the plug a gentle wiggle whilst pressing it in can't hurt either to help the release mechanism to do its thing.

Few options.

1. Try the button by the dash a few times, can you hear it unlocking?
2. Try pressing and holding the unlock button on the remote, you should see the charging LED go green and it will try to unlock.
3. Open the bonnet and look behind the charge port. You'll see a small lever with a circular pivot at each end. Try turning this and it should release the cable locking pin.

I'd agree with @donald , too, my wife's Zoe seems to need the connector to be lifted and gently pushed, so the top of the connector goes back a fraction and takes pressure off the locking pin. Also worth looking at the rectangular hole on the top of the connector to make sure there are no rough edges, as that's where the locking pin fits.
