I think it is shocking that car manufacturers can get away releasing cars that are not ready for Prime Time. Should be criminal really or attract massive fines. Some of these failures are dangerous. And it is all about greed and car manufacturers wanting to get product out to the public without things being fully tested.
The EX30 I test drove in the winter was otherwise an impressive car, or at least it has potential but had poor efficiency.
Had also read about software glitches on owners forums even then.
Looks like things were worse than I thought.

Interesting my EQE SUV has had a few software issues and has a specific software recall for the BMS being sorted on Weds yet MBUX in the EQC was flawless what changed? Tesla is always cited as a software company first then a car manufacturer so which is more important to the consumer for me the car dynamics build quality then interface but if that stops the car working…..things will get better I am sure as legacy manufacturers adapt. Interesting though that Geely a Chinese company are not better.

Its clickbait as the new version comes out today. The charging issue has been fixed, the main issues for me are no Android Auto (and Carplay) even though the car is based on Google platform, and the radio. Everytime you come off the accelerator or press the brake, the radio mutes! Not good, especially when i'm driving to work and trying to listen to the Euros. Bluetooth is also erratic.

My first electric car was an ID3, and i can confirm that was a far worse experience!

My Smart #1 is built on the same Geely platform as the Volvo EX-30. I’ve seen no significant issues - the worst is that when I’m at a red light, indicating, and the overhead view is showing, if I try to change anything like the heating, radio station, etc, the indicators get much louder. It goes back to normal when the manoeuvring camera is off the screen. Nothing show stopping, and I’ve learnt not to touch the screen then. I haven’t heard of any other problems, which makes me wonder if the EX-30 issues are down to Google. Have any Polestars or Renaults with Android Automotive had the same problems? Or is it just Volvo?

I actually think the indicator noise in the smart is brilliant I can barely hear mine!
the system is not a million miles from the feel of MBUX by the way….but then given they are all trying to d9 the same we would no doubt find they are all more similar than we think………..

I had an EX30 and returned it a few months ago after owning it for a week. I got in my car one day the the screen was changing every few seconds from black to green to red to yellow to white to blue to purple to all the colours in lines going down the screen!! Couldn't see the speedo or see anything on the screen, very dangerous. The Volvo garage I bought it from said they'd never heard of this before and it must have just been a one off . . . Hmmmm, really!!! I've got a smart #1 now. Volvo messed me around with the refund (money has been paid back but I racked up quite a lot of money when I had to use public transport because they didn't refund when they should have) and now the case is with the motor ombudsman who are investigating. It's a long process
