The dealers have found a bulletin about this issue and it’s the suspension bump stops. There are modified replacement parts for this which are now on back order for me. I don’t mind waiting so long as it’s in hand and gets done. Might be worth asking your dealer to locate the bulletin for it
Thanks - I'll do that when I book it in... who knows, perhaps the parts will arrive in time for the service?!

Mine is going to the shop in early january. Service said that they'll change the rear shocks. Two weeks of waiting for the parts. No mention of bump stops but I reckon the new shocks are different. I don't see how the clunking in my car could be related to bump stops as it clunks even if the suspension doesn't bottom out.

Car went in for a service today.
They have ordered some bump stops, yaay.
Also when they arrive in some future delivery they might include the pollen filter which they cannot complete the service without and wont even lie to say they did fit one when actually it's only 2500 miles and 12 months old and probably cleaner than a new one which got dropped on the floor.
Have had the MyEnergi update too but only to prove that updates do go in as nothing since Xmas a year ago.

Did anyone eventually get their bump stops replaced? I still have the "clunk", and the car's due to go in later this week - unfortunately my dealer knows nothing about the issue, so this visit is for diagnosis only, and if they can't find anything wrong it'll cost me ÂŁ180.

If anyone who's had the fix has an invoice or more information they could share that would be extremely helpful..!

We had our Launch Edition Megane EV rear bump stops done a while ago and it fixed the annoying knocking noise coming from the rear, on one side. The service manager knew about the issue and simply peered under the rear wheel arch and said he could see they need doing - or one side did. He said he would just order a pair of new modified rear bump stops as part of the technical bulletin. The official Renault technical Actis bulletin is 74594.

The Actis bulletin details the necessary symptoms including an audio download to match against the customer described symptoms, if they decide to take your car out to check. Our Megane wouldn’t always make the noise, only in certain conditions and road surfaces, so we were worried they’d so 'no fault found'. If it helps I can give you the service managers details of our supplying dealer, who actually came out and looked at our car, if your dealer continues to deny all knowledge.

Bear in mind some dealers don’t like you telling them their job or referring to the Internet. We usually use the line 'our friend had exactly the same issue and their dealer found a Technical article which involved…'.

The photo below taken from a European forum, shows the old bump stops and the new ones. The part on the left is the newly modified stop.

The specific Actis bulletin has in fact changed over time (as they often do with Renault - to find a better or more cost effective fix).

If you do Facebook, you'll even find someone has posted an early copy of the official bulletin as well.

We have a note of the specific parts used for our car - will see if I can find that.

This denial of a fix (or the issue itself) sounds rather similar to when new Megane Etechs and the Zappi EV chargers wouldn’t talk to each other - we had a real job finding a dealer who could delve deeper. Our supplying dealer has been excellent.

Hope that helps.

Dialogys is the Renault system they’ll find the Actis bulletin on. Once the dealer enters your vin or reg number in, they can enter the symptoms or find the active bulletins applicable to your car. One wonders with certain dealers if they couldn’t at least be a bit more helpful!

The following parts were ordered and fitted to our Megane EV:

0.9 hrs labour

x2 of:

552418557R - Bump stops

7703034306
7703002824
01225A2011
01223A2031
7703602211

Most of the listed parts are hex/screws and nuts.

That's extremely helpful, thanks so much for all the detail! To be fair to the dealer they've said they would be very unlikely to charge me the diagnostic fee, and they've been very good thus far.

I'll let you know how I get on when it goes in on Wednesday.

The bumpstop replacement for earlier cars is a given. There should be a date the dealers are aware of which saw new cars having the newer bumpstops fitted.
If they don't know or don't check it's hardly your fault if they need to physically take a look which is likely to only take seconds.

However, when I had mine done the dealership didn't mention that they needed the locking wheel nut key.
Obviously the wheels would be removed but I'd assumed the dealership would have a master set of wheelnut keys seeing as they were Renault supplied items and both Vauxhall and Nissan garages carry sets of keys and had never asked me to supply mine on occaisions when the wheels had to come off.

My dealership are over an hour away plus they gave me a hideous petrol thing so driving 40 minutes to get the key from home then to them then back to where I was to begin with was a massive pain. Make sure you leave the key in the armrest.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it's in there already, but I'm going to double check now...

Quick update - visited the dealer yesterday, (armed with all your info, thanks again!), and they were able to find the relevant actis bulletin and listen to the sample sound file. Took the tech guy out for a quick spin and despite the clunk being pretty subtle, he agrees the noise is there, they've ordered the part and it's booked in for the work in a couple of weeks (y)
