Does anyone know or has got their hands on the Renault V2L adapter. Can't find a part number anywhere. Wanting to make a wiring diagram for the V2L so we can start selling them. I know a few car deliveries have happened in Europe so surely must be a few out in the wild already.

I have been in contact with French and German dealerships, they have no ETA on the part. Also the quotes I received ranged from EUR 200 to 600 (No jokes). I don't really want to pay them and then wait 3 months... I also managed to book a test drive at the Watford dealership, they have the press car coming for 1 day on the 19th Feb. I have a suspicion that it's in the boot of that car ;) As a side, my Honda E may very well be in danger 🤣

The problem with the design they have chosen, as with the Hyundai/Kia design, the standard UK plug doesn't actually fit, you cannot close the plug housing once a UK appliance is attached. You almost always also have to carry an extension cable with you to make it useful. Our most popular V2L is the 10m version as this length gives you options while not being to bulky. We also us rubberised cable which is way easier to coil than PVC variants common in extension leads.

I still don't really see the benefit of V2L, it seems to me something that you'll make the best effort to use a few times with some random application to prove to yourself it is genuinely useful and then never use again.

It just seems to be a a feature, like auto parking, which is added to a car at minimal cost to the manufacturer to up the amount of features it has to make it appear better value to the consumer.

Years ago I used to use one of those 12V "dip in the cup" immersion heaters all the time in the car. Took forever and a day to get the water hot enough for a cup of tea. I can see V2L being handy to run a small kettle, TBH, lots of times when it'd have been nice to have a hot cup of tea when getting back to the car after a walk.

From a features list comparaison, I think you will be disappointed there are a lot of no-sens features in the R5 versus Tesla.

Note: I don’t have R5 mobile app access in my current rental

MY (not refresh) / M3 : 35k€
R5 Techno : 32k€ (+1000€ for a basic autopilot feature like)

Efficiency on highway per 100km:

Tesla : 17/18kw
R5 : 21kw

I'm good with that. Had a model X for almost 5 years, have driven several model S and 3's. Been there done that. Elon finished it for me. Bye T 👋

Can't wait to get my little A290 🇫🇷

Got my hands on the UK V2L Renault adapter.
Seems resistances are different to those posted earlier.
Off: 3.2k ohm
On:330 ohm
Also to note, you have to press the button and hold for about 3 sec to enable.

Interesting. The "off" is close enough, but I am a bit surprised by the "on" one being double. While the "off" resistance is well out of the lowest-current spec for charging cables, the "on", if 150 ohm, is between 32A and 63A, and if 330 ohm, is between 20 A and 32 A. I wonder if there is any significance to that.

They probably switched to a higher "on" resistance so less current flows and less heat is generated by the resistor.

Renault 5 and Renault 4 V2L cables now live! Renault V2L
And I know there will be people saying that the evcables version is to expensive and you can get one on Ebay etc.
I'll post the full diagram here in a bit so anyone can make one if they wish :)
But just to give an idea about OEM prices.

Official one is £100 including the dreaded…

Thanks to @dparr59 for spotting it at Glyn Hopkins
