Hi, mine still doesn’t have the option on the settings either, but it is working on mine now.
They had done it for me already on one key fob when I picked the car up yesterday but told me how to do it on my spare one when I got home.
He just told me to stand next to the car door and unlock using the fob, then lock again and hold the button on the fob for at least 5 seconds I asked which button to hold and he said either will do.
I got home and did the steps with the spare and the first time it didn’t work. So I tried again but held the button longer than five seconds I think. I was standing close to the passenger door while doing this, if that helps.
1. unlock using fob
2. Lock using fob
3. Hold lock button on fob for 5 to 10 seconds. I didn’t count but it can’t hurt to hold it longer.
4. Then I walked away about 10 feet and then walked back up to the door. The doors unlocked and mirrors folded out.
The man did say holding any button would activate it so you could try the unlock button too but I assure you it does now work.
Hi there,

I've tried this and still not working.

I'll mention it to the dealer when it goes in for it's first service in a couple of months, see if they can get it working.

Thanks for the help though it's appreciated (y)

On some of the older Corsa-e's, if you don't have the option for proximity locking in the cars settings menu, then it isn't going to work. It either isn't available or requires an update to the firmware of the car.

hi, but mine is a New corsa-e and also does not have the option of proximity locking in the comfort menu, before or after the technician sorted it for me. I will speak to him and ask if there was something else he did. I do know my spare key was not doing it when I tried it, until I followed the steps that he told me.

Ok, I’ve spoke to the technician and he told me that he did an update to the system config and that you would have to take yours to your local dealer to get this done.

He didn’t tell me this at the time and made it sound like it was just the button presses on the fob that corrected it. It still doesn’t have it as an option in the menu on mine but I’m not bothered as it works much better than the touch sensor on the handle or gettin the fob out of my pocket.

Thanks for checking this with them. I’ll mention it to my dealer when it’s in for its first service in a few months time 👍🏻

Hello all,
I'm in Italy and same issue for the missing settings for handsfree. I go to my dealer and tell him to update the car, but they said that I do not have that function. It is very frustrating. Red68 can you please ask what is the specific config change that they did to your car?

I spoke to my dealer about this update and whilst they were being coy about it, I insisted that they double check and they reluctantly admitted that there is an updte but they were talking with “Germany” to clarify exactly what is involved and whether it is a chargeable update..

I am still waiting to hear back from them which means that they are reluctant to these updates as they obviously do not add to their bottom line. I told them that I was not going to accept a charge for an update that restores a function that was advertised as being a feature that was missing.

Vauxhall Customer Service were useless and insisted that it was nothing to do with them. I will chase this up again with my dealer but I fear that only the threat of a class action suit will force some movement on this issue for most people.

I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that Vauxhall are either hugely incompetent or really don't give a monkeys about customer care at all. The brick wall I've had with them trying to get ANY of the issues I've had fixed. Not one has been fixed by them. The only one that has been resolved was due to changing car as it removed the issue with the appalling keyless!

The handsfree does exist as I have it on the car I have. I still haven't found out when it was actually built either. The software date was March anyway so it's not as if they've updated that.

The July 2020 user manual says you can unlock the car with a phone app. Still not available. The handsfree was actually advertised as working in the January 2020 one so they have a history of being inaccurate.

Charging money for it? Ridiculous! My dealership has only one guy who trained as an electric vehicle technician. All the others are regular mechanics and the rest of the service department have no clue when it relates to ev problems.
It was only when I spoke to him that he understood what I was saying about a number of issues. The keyless entry was discussed and he said he will look into it and that it maybe an update required. As I said earlier, he told me it was just a change/ update of the config file. I’m assuming this is something they can all do. Tell them to get in touch with Arnold Clark Blackpool and speak to the service department there. Keep on at them to get it sorted, good luck.

Faulty keyless was reported by my Dealer about their demo cars March/April of last year. Nothing has changed. The handsfree unlocking hid the issue as for some reason as that seems to just work.

Not sure if it will help anyone or not, but when I changed from the Corsa-E to the Mokka-E three or so weeks ago I was talking to the salesman about the keyless entry on the Corsa-E.

He was saying that there was an update to the Corsa-E at some point in 2020 and that those models had the keyless entry function added to them.

It works a dream on the launch edition Mokka-E I have now.

I've had a partial update to my Corsa-e which is a July 2020 model and the proximity key entry now works.
Thanks for this, I had mine booked into the dealer yesterday to get it fixed. They insisted that there wasn't anything wrong with the car and in fact no Vauxhall has proximity unlocking. It's due it's 1st service at the end of July, so will try again then.

Touch wood my keyless has suddenly been far better than it was before

Works more often than not

Maybe it's because I don't use it much as i press unlock to get the cable out or I open boot which always works so maybe using less means failures noticef less but hey ho

Boot button always works. It's only the door handle that's difficult. Handsfree always works. I've not had the mystery tizz failure where nothing works to unlock the car and you have to use the metal key. A few have had that.
